Mcallen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Basilio and Matile Villarreal; his wife, Rosalinda Villarreal; and his son, Armando de Jesus Villarreal.

Affectionately known as Mando, he was a man who found joy in the simple but meaningful pleasures of life. He loved cooking meals for his family and friends, cheering on his favorite baseball team—the Texas Rangers—and most of all, spending time with his three cherished grandchildren: Mia (“Titina”), Andres (“Chacho”), and Sebastián (“El Sebi”).

Mando is survived by his children: Linda Villarreal, Denise Villarreal (Ruben), and Mr. and Mrs. Christian Villarreal. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he took immense pride in each of them.

For 20 years, Mando served as the Groundskeeper at Nikki Rowe High School, where he poured his heart into maintaining the school’s athletic fields—especially the baseball field, which was his pride and joy. He took great satisfaction in preparing the field for games and received countless compliments for its immaculate condition.

Mando leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
