Carmen Hernandez Lopez

Carmen "Mela" Hernandez Lopez, born February 11th, 1938, was 87 when she entered the kingdom of heaven on May 15th, 2025. 

She took her last breath in the comfort of the place she dearly loved and called home. 

She was born in Jalisco, Mexico, and with many of her siblings and her husband, she migrated to California where they settled in East Los Angeles to build a better life. 

To say Mela was a kind, loving, and humble woman who always took care of others is not enough to describe the amazing person she was.

 Although she had no children of her own, she was like an aunt, a mother, and a grandmother to us all, but most of all, a friend. She will be dearly missed, and always remembered.
