Maria Renteria Ortiz, a beloved wife and cherished family member, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, in Downey, California, at the age of 91. Born on April 26, 1934, in Jalisco, Mexico, Maria's journey through life was marked by love and devotion to her family.

Maria dedicated her life to being a housewife, finding joy in the simple yet profound moments spent with her loved ones. the warmth of her heart radiated in her home, where she created an oasis of comfort and care. Her family was her world, and she thrived in their presence, taking pride in nurturing them and providing a safe haven filled with love and laughter.

Known for her gentle spirit, Maria had a passion for knitting, crafting beautiful pieces that conveyed her love and warmth. She also found joy and companionship in caring for her birds, whose sweet songs filled her home with a sense of peace. Each detail of her life reflected her nurturing nature, whether it was through knitting a handmade gift or tending to her feathered friends.

As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember not only her loving spirit but the countless memories she created with those she held dear. A visitation for Maria will be held on June 18, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM at East Olympic Funeral Home located at 4556 E Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90022. A Mass will take place the following day, June 19, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, also at East Olympic Funeral Home. Afterward, family and friends are invited to join for her graveside service at Montecito Memorial Park, starting at 1:00 PM.
